Editorial policy

Where facts come from

Product facts come from the specification for that exact item. We publish the figure as it is stated rather than restating it in our own words, because a measurement put another way is a measurement changed.

If the data does not state something, the page carries no line for it. That is why one product page shows a weight and the next does not, and it is deliberate.

Names

Product names on this site are ours. Published titles in this category run past a hundred characters and restate the same keywords three times. We read them for facts and write a name that says the count, the size and what the thing is. The published title is never the thing we are quoting when we state a fact.

What we never do

Sources

Where a page cites outside guidance, the source is opened and read before a sentence is written against it, and the read date is printed next to the link. Today the pages rest on stated product facts alone.

Prices

Prices are updated on a schedule and every page carries the date of the last update. A price that moves suspiciously far is held back for someone to look at before it reaches the page, and a product with no buyable price leaves the range until it returns rather than showing an old figure.

Photography

Photographs are shown at their own size and never enlarged. An enlarged photograph is a worse photograph in a bigger file, and this site does not make that trade.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, write to contact@syhood.net. We check it against the specification and fix the page. Corrections are made quietly and quickly rather than argued about.
